When everything is said and done ...
it's been a while since i have digressed into personal rants, but after several days of grinding a few critical thoughts between the rigors of my current day-to-day life, i'm indulging.
i caught lou dobbs on the daily show a couple of nights ago. i'm a noted fan on dobbs, who often cuts right to the quick. during his spot he meantioned how he feels that american has drifted - rapidly - from a society built on hard work to one built on speculation and investments. i don't disagree. it's frustrating to bust your ass working and find yourself being passed by trust-fund kids, investment prospecters and go-luckies. frustrations of the common man i suppose.
sitting on my desk are several dozen cd's, most of which i bought, although a few are from various pr firms or record labels. a few feet aware are a stack of books that were gifts of impulse buys. these days having the time to read or listen to a music seems akin to hitting the lottery.
a couple of notes about this site. i'm running far behind on getting interviews out. i have six artists all of whom should have been interviewed by the end of last week. throw in a freelance assignment and the up-in-the-air status of a partnership with another site, and i'm piling more dirt on my own grave. i haven't had the time - and what time i have - i want to use try - try - and relax. easier said that done.
it's been a tough week, and frankly, i'm down. with so much going on at work this week - and it no where near over yet - and a personal milestone that occurred this week, it has gotten to me. i'm tired. being so open with my personal state of being isn't easy.
but then again, i really shouldn't be complaining. things could be a hell of a lot worse.

tricky balances. i've no advice, or helpful words, though i can say i've enjoyed the interviews this week.
(so long as saying that doesn't increase any 'dear jesus i have to get those other interviews done' sort of pressure.)
oy. so it goes.
hopefully, at least, you've got a sweet weekend ahead of you.
